Rendered in madder red, this table runner is hand block-printed using the Ajrakh technique — a resist-dye process refined over centuries by artisan families of Kutch.

The date palm motif is built through successive stages of hand-carved wooden block printing, natural dyeing, and washing, a sequence that can span several days from cloth to finished piece.

The hakoba weave lends the runner a fine perforated texture, distinct from a plain weave surface, that shifts subtly with light and placement.

As with all naturally dyed, hand-printed textiles, minor variations in tone and motif placement are inherent to the process a mark of the hand, not an inconsistency.
